6 THINGS HAPPY PEOPLE DO EVERY MORNING

Being happy is not something that happens to you or catches you just because you’re lucky or not. Being happy is about a decision you make. A decision you should make every morning.

The morning is the best time of the day to determine your mood. You can shape it up with some tips. Reading other blog posts we discovered 6 tasks happy people perform every morning:

  1. MOVE

Move your Body with some exercises. Shake it up with some dancing, Pilates, Yoga or whatever you like. It doesn’t even matter if you just dance around while you cook your breakfast or do a simple stretching routine but power up. This will keep your body active through the rest of your day.

  1. MEDITATE/PRAY

Spend at least 5 minutes of quiet time, talking to God, breathing deeply. Think of something you’re grateful for and leave yesterday behind. Arguments, frustrations and negative thoughts of the day before should go away. If it helps, use a journal to write your gratitude thoughts. Use anything that requires you to be calm and present.


  1. AVOID TECHNOLOGY THE FIRST HOURS

Try turning off your alarm and putting down your cellphone without looking at it further. Hold off on checking your email and social media timeline, they will still be there time after. Plugging in as soon as you wake up puts you in “go mode” way too early and sometimes even before your feet touch the ground your receive a message that disrupts your great mood. Take control of your emotions at the start of the day.

  1. EAT A SATISFYING BREAKFAST

Take time in your nutrition, it is your fuel. Don’t only cook an energizing breakfast; start drinking a glass of water as soon as you wake up. This will help you rehydrate and improve your digestive flow throughout the day.

  1. PLAN YOUR DAY

Try making a schedule. This will allow you to be productive and to fit in as much tasks as you want to accomplish. Make it loose to avoid feeling rushed and to have room for random disruptions. Also, this plan has to include the daily resolution for how you want to react to whatever life throws your way; it will make you keep a constant mood.

  1. SAY POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS

Happy people express their love to others and to themselves. This strengthens meaningful relationships, which in turn makes us happier, healthier, and able to thrive. Self-appreciation is also important. Find some qualities you enjoy about yourself and say them out loud. The key is to say the words intentionally, genuinely, and with feeling to have a real impact.
